Their latest books explore how to overcome adversity and face difficult circumstances head on. This presentation will emphasize the importance of resilience and empowerment, and will teach readers about the creative writing process.

Andrée Poulin’s The Biggest Poutine in the World and Pablo Finds a Treasure and Camille Bouchard’s Cahokia tie together to express an overall all theme of perseverance despite hard conditions.

Readers (grade 8 and up) will delight in this discussion of Mariko Tamaki’s Saving Montgomery Sole and Erin Bow’s The Swan Riders. Though these stories take place in vastly different settings, they both exhibit strong female characters and explore the theme of resiliency.
