Emma Healey

Grades 10 to 12

Poetry Workshop

Named this month by Quill & Quire as one of Canada’s most exciting emerging poets, Emma Healey’s writing has been featured in the National Post, the Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star, and The Walrus. Her 2014 Hairpin essay Stories Like Passwords sparked an ongoing, national conversation on gender-based harassment. Emma’s latest book of prose poetry, Stereoblind, continues her investigation of provocative themes, including such diverse topics as feminism, technology, mental illness, alienation and connection. She was the recipient of the Irving Layton Award for Creative Writing in both 2010 and 2013.
