EyrieIn conversation with Rosemary Allenbach, Internationally renowned Australian writer Tim Winton presents Eyrie, a novel offering a clear-eyed yet compassionate depiction of the struggle to do the right thing in an impossibly compromised world.

In Eyrie, Tom Keely was once an ambitious environmentalist, but now finds himself broke, embroiled in scandal, and struggling to piece together some semblance of a life. As Keely slips into a nightmarish world of con artists, drug dealers, petty violence, and extortion, Winton confronts the cost of benevolence in this literary novel longlisted for the 2014 Miles Franklin Literary Award.

Tim Winton is one of Australia’s most decorated and beloved literary novelists. He has written 25 books for adults and children, including The Riders, Shallows, Dirt Music, Breath and An Open Swimmer, many of which are bestsellers.

Winton has won the Miles Franklin Award for Best Australian Novel four times, and has twice been a finalist for the Booker Prize.
