Christos Tsiolkas

Christos Tsiolkas (Australia) is the author of four novels: Loaded, which was made into the feature film Head On, The Jesus Man, Dead Europe, which won The Age of Fiction Prize and the Melbourne Best Writing Award, and The Slap, which won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, the Australian Literature Society Gold Medal and the Vance Palmer Prize for Fiction, and was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize. In addition to novels, Tsiolkas is a playwright, essayist and screenwriter. At Wordfest, he presents Barracuda, the story of a talented young swimmer with a working-class upbringing. The author currently resides in Melbourne, Australia.
