Eimear McBride
Eimear McBride (Ireland) was born in Liverpool and grew up in Tubbercurry, Ireland. As a teenager, McBride attended the Drama Centre in London for three years, where she studied acting. In her twenties, she travelled and wrote A Girl is a Half-formed Thing, which recently won the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction. The novel, which McBride will be presenting at Wordfest, is a funny and alarming story which touches on everything from family violence to religion and personal struggle. McBride resides in Norwich, England with her husband and daughter, which is where she currently working on her second novel.
