Fred Stenson
Fred Stenson (AB, Canada) is the author of The Trade, which was nominated for the 2000 Scotiabank Giller Prize, and won the City of Edmonton Book Prize, the Charles Bugnet Novel Award and the inaugural Grant MacEwan Author’s Prize. The Great Karoo, Stenson’s eighth work of fiction, was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award in 2008. The author also writes a regular humour column for Alberta Views Magazine, and has written scripts for over 140 produced films and videos. Stenson was raised in the Alberta foothills north of Chief Mountain and lives with his wife in Cochrane, Alberta. At Wordfest, the author presents his latest novel, Who by Fire.
