Ian Williams

Ian Williams (Calgary, AB, Canada) is the 2014-2015 writer-in-residence at the University of Calgary, who will be working on writing a novel while he is in the program. The author completed his PhD in English at the University of Toronto, and has worked as an English professor with a specialization in modern and contemporary literature. His most recent collection of poems, Personals, a jittery, plaintive suite of almost-love poems, was short-listed for the 2013 Griffin Poetry Prize, the Robert Kroetsch Poetry Book Award and the ReLit Award. Williams’ writing has appeared in several North American journals and anthologies, including Best Canadian Poetry in English and The Broadview Anthology of Short Fiction.
