Iman Verjee

Iman Verjee (Kenya) studied psychology at the University of Alberta before moving to London, where she received an MA in creative writing from City University. While completing the program, Verjee wrote her debut novel, In Between Dreams, which won the 2012 Peters Fraser & Dunlop/City University Prize for fiction. The novel, which the author will present at Wordfest, is about young woman named Frances who, following a disastrous birthday party and a grandmother found dead in the bathtub, is sent to boarding school for the first time. There, Frances is forced to confront the true nature of her life. Verjee currently resides in Nairobi, Kenya.
