Kim Thúy

Kim Thúy (QC, Canada) has worked as farmer, seamstress, restaurant owner and lawyer before devoting herself completely to writing in her Montreal home. The author moved from Vietnam to Canada with her family when she was ten years old. Her first novel, Ru, fictionalized this journey to Quebec and her family’s discovery of their new environment. Since its release, the novel has been published in several languages and has won the Grand Prix RTL-Lire at the Salon du livre in Paris, and the Governor General’s Literary Award in 2010.
