Natalie Simpson
Natalie Simpson (Calgary, AB, Canada) is a poet who has recently returned to Calgary from living in Vancouver. Her work has appeared in Queen Street Quarterly, dANDelion, West Coast Line and in the anthologies Post-Prairie and Shift & Switch. Her first book of poetry, accrete or crumble, was published in 2006. Simpson is also a former filling Station editor. At Wordfest, the poet presents her second book of poetry, Thrum, a collection which reveals how making sense is not always the same as making meaning. The collection is told using tension between sound and meaning, and continues in the tradition that begun with Gertrude Stein.
