Nicholas Carr
Nicholas Carr (USA) writes about technology and culture. His book, The Shallows: What the Internet Is Doing to Our Brains, was a 2011 Pulitzer Prize finalist and a New York Times bestseller. Carr has been a columnist for the Guardian in London, and has written for the Atlantic, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, among other publications. He is a former member of the Encyclopaedia Britannica’s editorial board of advisors, and was a writer-in-residence at the University of California, Berkeley. At Wordfest, he presents his latest work, The Glass Cage: Automation and Us, both a celebration of technology and a warning about its misuse.
