Ted Bishop

Ted Bishop (AB, Canada) is a professor of English literature and film studies at the University of Alberta. His first book, Riding with Rilke, was a Canadian bestseller and was short-listed for the Governor General’s Literary Award for non-fiction. “The Hawkman of Kandahar”, his travel essay, won a Prairie Fire award for non-fiction. Bishop has received a CBC Literary Award for travel, and two nominations for National Magazine Awards for his motorcycle essays. At Wordfest, the author presents The Social Life of Ink, the part travelogue, part memoir of personal discovery that asks us to look more closely at something we see so often, we don’t see it at all; ink.
