In conversation with Samantha Warwick, Christos Tsiolkas presents Barracuda, the story of a talented young swimmer with a working-class upbringing, cutting between the boy’s life and that of the adult man many years later, still angry at the world but more comfortable in his skin and with himself and his sexuality.
Tsiolkas is the author of several novels including Loaded, which was made into the feature film Head On and The Slap, which won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, the Australian Literature Society Gold Medal and the Vance Palmer Prize for Fiction, and was long-listed for the Man Booker Prize. In addition to novels, Tsiolkas is a playwright, essayist and screenwriter.
