Tickets: $10 / $8 Advance
Join comic superstar, Ricardo Siri Liniers, known to many as Liniers, and children’s author, Dan Bar-el, in a discussion of how the extraordinary can sometimes be disguised as ordinary.
Ricardo Liniers discusses The Big Wet Balloon, a picture book which gives a funny and sweet portrait of his daughters, Clemmie and Matilda, and their adventures on a rainy Saturday. The Big Wet Balloon is Liniers’ first book published in English. Liniers is an acclaimed Argentine cartoonist based in Buenos Aires who has published over 3,600 comic strips.
Dan Bar-el presents A Fish Named Glub and Nine Words Max. Illustrated by Josée Bisaillon, A Fish Named Glub is a lyrical story about friendship and the power of dreams. A small ordinary fish named Glub asks himself the big questions in life as he observes the environment beyond his fishbowl. Nine Words Max is a funny, quirky tale about a prince named Maxamilian who loves to talk. When the king and queen are gone, Max’s brothers put a spell on him that limits him to speaking only nine words at a time.
Ricardo Liniers and Dan Bar-El will be presenting on Thursday, October 16, 2014, from 10:00 – 11:30 AM. Located in the Glenbow Museum (130 9 Ave SE, Calgary). Ticket Prices: Regular – $8, At the door – $10.
