This family literacy workshop geared to children (Kindergarten to Grade 3) and their caregivers features interactive literacy based activities with illustrator and writer Ruth Ohi.
Ruth Ohi (ON, Canada) is the author and illustrator of many beloved children’s books. She is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, and although she is beginning to incorporate digital elements into her artwork, her illustrations are mainly done using watercolours and ink. Ohi revels in creativity, and her favourite part about being an author is hosting workshops where she can see young people get as excited about their stories as she does.
Ohi’s work contains many critter-filled pictures books, including Fox and Squirrel, Chicken, Pig, Cow! and Shh! My Brother’s Napping, her most recent book about the troubles of keeping silent.
The TD Family Literary Series provides families with fun, interactive events that highlight ways to introduce a love of reading with opportunities for parents and care givers to encourage and enjoy reading as a shared experience.
