Wordfest is a proud community partner on the upcoming screening of Moon, presented by Calgary's poet laureate Derek Beaulieu and Calgary Cinematheque as part of its Salon Cinema series. The event includes a screening of MOON, Duncan Jones' 2009 sci-fi character study, as well as readings from poets Ken Hunt, Christian Bök and Larissa Lai. A longtime resident of Calgary, Derek Beaulieu is the author of eight books of poetry, three volumes of fiction, and one volume of literary criticism. For 17 years he has been developing poetic communities; he has mentored and promoted young and established writers as publisher/editor of housepress and No Press, and as a former editor of Calgary magazines filling Station, dANDelion, and Speechless.
