An oil boom means Calgary is flooded with people and prosperity. Does that mean a bust has to be the opposite? Join wordfest and an eclectic panel of speakers working in art, literature, engineering, business and advocacy as we filter through the “white noise” surrounding Calgary’s economy and identity – how intertwined they are, and how intertwined they should be. Beyond oil and gas, what makes our city unique, how can we build on these qualities, and what can we do to survive the next boom? Hosted by Matt Knapik; co-presented with Sled Island.

The Panel:

He is also a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business, teaching an MBA level course in carbon policy, economics, markets and finance. His work is focused on environmental management and sustainable business.
