Critically acclaimed authors Marina Endicott and Guy Vanderhaeghe join host Fred Stenson on the Wordfest stage for an evening of readings and conversations about their new books, followed by an audience Q&A and book signing. Owl’s Nest Books is the official bookseller for this event.
Marina Endicott is the author of Good to a Fault, which won the Commonwealth Writers' Prize for Best Book, Canada and the Caribbean, and was a finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize for The Little Shadows. Endicott presents her comic novel, Close to Hugh, a character-driven story about a man who recovers from a jarring fall that leaves him with a fractured vision of his own life and the lives of his friends.
Guy Vanderhaeghe has received many awards including two Governor General's Awards, the Harbourfront Literary Prize and the Order of Canada. His previous fiction includes A Good Man, The Last Crossing, The Englishman's Boy, Things as they Are and Man Descending (stories). Vanderhaeghe presents his new book, Daddy Lenin, a collection of nine stories showcasing the author's supreme talent as a storyteller and poignant observer of the human condition.
Fred Stenson is a novelist, non-fiction writer, film writer and a humour columnist for Alberta Views Magazine. His most recent novel is Who By Fire, which he presented at Wordfest 2014.
Tickets to an intimate reception with the authors beginning at 6pm are available for $65, while quantities last (includes admission to the main event at 7pm).
