Join us for a compelling conversation with Jesse Thistle. A Métis/Cree/Scot from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Thistle is an academic and writer whose past experiences with homelessness, addiction, and incarceration have formed the basis for both his scholarly research, and his powerful, just released memoir, From the Ashes. Katherena Vermette says From the Ashes is “the kind of story that changes how you look at the world, that shows us how amazing human beings can be; so capable, strong, resilient, powerful." Thistle will be interviewed by his friend Amanda Lindhout, author of the bestselling memoir, A House in the Sky.
