[SOLD OUT] Tzavta Salon: Liana Finck
Hosted by Jason Logan
Picture this: A custom-curated, multi-course meal at Park by Sidewalk Citizen, followed by the most glorious unfiltered conversation for the mind and soul with Liana Finck, New Yorker cartoonist, graphic novelist, and Instagram oracle. Discover why her more than 600,000 followers can’t wait for the next installment of her seemingly simple wobbly line drawings, through which she investigates the big and the small questions of being alive in hilarious, heartbreaking, and mind-expanding ways. (Sign up for her Substack newsletter and delight in surprisingly frequent cartoons, given that Finck is a new mother.)
Check out this resume: Finck is a recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship, a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, and a Six Points Fellowship for Emerging Jewish Artists. She has had artist residencies with the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and Tablet magazine.
Following the meal, Finck will be discussing her new ambitious and transcendent graphic novel Let There Be Light: The Real Story of Her Creation, with her friend and arty colleague, Jason Logan (Tzavta Salon alumni and founder of The Toronto Ink Company, whose documentary film The Colour of Ink is having its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival).
This event is part of Wordfest’s Imaginairium festival, Sept. 29 – Oct. 6, 2022. Connect with 60+ of the world’s most generous writers, thinkers, activators and inspirers, gathered just for you in Calgary, Canada. For more info: wordfest.com
