Luis Fabini
Luis Fabini was born in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1965, and spent his life between South America, Europe and United States. His interest in photography was ignited by his father who put a camera in Fabini’s hands at the age of seven before the two embarked on crossing the Andes. He has since moved on to directing and producing documentary films and later worked as a fashion and travel photographer. He is now based in New York City.
Cowboys of the Americas
Luis Fabini offers an awe-inspiring portrait of cowboys throughout the Americas in images and words. For more than a decade, he immersed himself in cowboy culture as he traveled through North and South America. An eloquent text by anthropologist and author Wade Davis reflects on the long relationship between horses and humans, describes the significance of Fabini’s work, and illuminates the enduring spirit of cowboy culture.
