#YYCLiterarySidewalks
CALGARY, AB—To celebrate Alberta Culture Days, Calgary Public Library and Wordfest have teamed up to bring to life the wonderful words of several Calgary writers. It’s a gift of pop-up wordy goodness for the citizens of Calgary!
Starting today, sidewalks throughout the City will come alive with literary quotes…whenever it rains (or, heaven forbid) snows. The literary quotations—from the likes of Aritha van Herk, Will Ferguson, and Derek Beaulieu—have been written on eleven City sidewalks in biodegradable sidewalk paint, invisible until water is added.
Join in the fun and be part of the “wetting party” to unveil Aritha van Herk’s quotation on the sidewalk in front of the Glenbow Museum on Stephen Avenue.
Thank you to Morgan Curley for the typography and Diane Hunter at McAra Unicom for helping us create the stencils!
