HOW DO I BUY TICKETS AND PASSES?

You may purchase tickets and passes with a credit card anytime on wordfest.com (24×7), over the phone at 403-237-9068 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm), or in person by cash, cheque, debit flash or credit card at the Wordfest office on the 2nd floor of Memorial Park Library, 1221 2 St SW (by appointment only). Please contact boxoffice@wordfest.com to schedule a visit to the Wordfest office or to arrange a call-time outside of our regular office hours.

CAN I BUY TICKETS TO MULTIPLE EVENTS ON A SINGLE ORDER?

Certainly! Wordfest has a new shopping cart on its website powered by Showpass, which allows you to buy tickets to multiple shows on a single order. Simply click the “Add to Cart” or “Buy Tickets” button. Then select the number of tickets needed on the pop-up screen, and click “Continue Shopping” to add more tickets to other shows. When you are ready to complete your order, click the “Checkout” button or “Shopping Cart” icon in the top-right corner of our website, and follow the instructions on the pop-up screen.

DO I NEED TO CREATE A SHOWPASS ACCOUNT TO BUY TICKETS?

For the best experience, we strongly recommend creating a Showpass account. However, there is an option to complete your order on wordfest.com as a guest. During the checkout process, when prompted for a login, instead click the “Guest” tab. Then continue to the next screen.

I AM A FESTIVAL PASS HOLDER. HOW DO I OBTAIN MY TICKETS?

Please look for your personal ticket code, starting with “VC,” found in the confirmation email you received from Showpass. This was sent to the same email address used when you purchased your pass. We have detailed instructions here, showing where to locate your ticket code in your confirmation email, and how to apply it during the checkout process.

  1. Click “add to cart” or “buy tickets” on events you’d like to see. Select any of the ticket types shown. Click “Continue shopping” to add more tickets to your cart, or “Checkout” when you are ready.
  2. After clicking “Checkout,” click the “Enter Promo, Discount or Ticket Credit Code” button.
  3. Enter the personal ticket code provided to you in your confirmation email from Showpass, and confirm it is being applied correctly. Once entered, your grand total should be $0 unless you have added Visitations or Special Events (not included in Festival Pass).
  4. Then click “Next” and continue with the checkout process. If you are prompted to enter credit card information (and you were not expecting this), DO NOT PROCEED. Instead, go back to previous steps in the checkout process and confirm that your code is applied correctly.

I AM A PLATINUM PASS HOLDER. HOW DO I OBTAIN MY TICKETS?

Please continue to use the same access code provided to you when you purchased your pass. On the new ticketing system, however, you will need to enter your access code on the order summary page AFTER you have filled your cart and have clicked the “Checkout” button, but BEFORE entering any payment information.

  1. Click “add to cart” or “buy tickets” on events you’d like to see. Select any of the “Pass Holder” ticket types shown. Click “Continue shopping” to add more tickets to your cart, or “Checkout” when you are ready.
  2. After clicking “Checkout”, click the “Enter Promo, Discount or Ticket Credit Code” button.
  3. Enter the access code provided to you earlier in the year, and confirm that the code is being applied correctly. Once entered, your grand total should be $0, unless you have added Visitations (not included) or Special Events (not included after the Sept 4 RSVP deadline).
  4. Then click “Next” and continue with the checkout process. If you are prompted to enter credit card information (and you were not expecting this), DO NOT PROCEED. Instead, go back to previous steps in the checkout process and confirm that your code is applied correctly.

I BOUGHT A PASS, BUT I DON'T HAVE MY CODE YET. WHAT DO I DO?

FESTIVAL PASS HOLDERS: We have detailed instructions here, showing where to locate your ticket code in your confirmation email, and how to apply it during the checkout process. Please contact us immediately if you did not receive a confirmation email.

PLATINUM PASS HOLDERS: Please use the same access code provided to you earlier in the year when you purchased your pass.

WHICH EVENTS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE FESTIVAL PASS?

Not Included in the Festival Pass: Off-Festival events, Visitation: Tim Cook (Oct 09), Visitation: Kurt Andersen (Oct. 10), Visitation: Patrick deWitt (Oct. 13), A Morning with Elizabeth Hay (Oct. 10), Word Feast with Kim Thuy (Oct. 11), Brunch with Sheila Heti & Rachel Kushner (Oct. 14), and Tzavta Salon: Paula Saunders (Oct. 14). Tanya Tagaq’s book-with-ticket event is not included; however a $15 discount is available to Festival Pass holders (Oct. 15).

WHICH EVENTS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE PLATINUM PASS?

Not Included in the Platinum Pass: Visitation: Tim Cook (Oct 09), Visitation: Kurt Andersen (Oct. 10), Visitation: Patrick deWitt (Oct. 13).

For the Special Events included in the Platinum Pass, a confirmed RSVP must have been received by September 4.

IS THE TANYA TAGAQ EVENT ON OCTOBER 15 INCLUDED IN THE PASS?

Tanya Tagaq’s event on October 15 is a book-with-ticket experience, and is not included in the regular Festival Pass. However, Festival Pass holders receive a $15 discount on tickets. Choose the exclusive $25 pass holder ticket price, and remember to bring proof of your pass purchase to the event, to gain entry with the discounted ticket type. Only Platinum Pass Holders are admitted at no extra charge.

CAN I BUY REGULAR TICKETS AND PASS HOLDER TICKETS ON THE SAME ORDER?

Certainly! Please remember to select the “General Admission” ticket type for any tickets that you are buying for friends and family who do not have a pass. Only use the pass holder ticket types for the events to which you are applying a code.
