Raised in Calgary and a graduate of the Alberta College of Arts and Design, illustrator and comic artist Jillian Tamaki has worked for the video game company BioWare and taught illustration at New York City’s School of Visual Arts and Parsons. Her illustrations have appeared in some of the world’s top publications, including The New Yorker and The Guardian. In 2014, she won the Governor General’s Literary Award for the graphic novel This One Summer. Most recently, her book SuperMutant Magic Academy ‑ a collection of web comics from 2010 to 2014 – won the 2016 Eisner Award for Best Publication for Teens.
