David Suzuki, Special Wordfest Event: What the audience had to say
Earlier in June 2015, Wordfest welcomed David Suzuki to the Knox United Church for readings from his latest book Letters to my Grandchildren. We asked the audience how they felt about the event. Here’s what they had to say about the discussion that evening.
[David Suzuki] is always extremely accommodating with respect to signing books and answering questions.
Loved the talk – the sincerity. Inspired. Real.
[I was] impressed with the Wordfest volunteers and their courteous and helpful handling of both the seating and the book signing lineups.
It was great to hear praise for Knox United Church and our official bookseller Pages!
“The event was excellent, I thought everything went smoothly and the venue was really cool.”
[David Suzuki] was so candid! [Wordfest] events are always great!! Love Pages!!
We asked patrons to describe Wordfest in a single sentence.
[It’s] fresh, exciting and full of new ideas! The coolest way to be introduced to the literature.
[Wordfest is] expanding my love of books to a connection with my community.
Wordfest is an important service to the English language!
Wordfest brings modern literature outside book covers and into public awareness.
[It] puts Calgary on the literary map.
[Wordfest is] Calgary’s opportunity to expand our experience of literature via live, often interactive experiences with our favorite authors.
