Wordfest presents Robbie Robertson on Wednesday, Dec. 7, @ 7pm, at the Bella Concert Hall at Mount Royal University, 4825 Mt Royal Gate SW, Calgary (NOW SOLD OUT). If you are currently a ticket holder to this event and are picking up your tickets at the door (i.e. you have not made prior arrangements to have them mailed), please go directly to the Bella Concert Hall when the box office table opens in the lobby at 5:30pm. Doors open at 6pm. This is a general admission event.
Directions
From Glenmore Trail westbound
1. Exit right on Richard Road
2. At the second set of traffic lights, the Richard Road and Mount Royal Gate intersection, turn left and drive into campus.
From Glenmore Trail eastbound
1. Exit right at the at 37th Street S.W.
2. At the first roundabout, take the second exit right to continue on 37th Street Northbound.
3. At the second roundabout, take the first exit right to continue on 35th Street Northbound.
4. At the next intersection, turn right into Richardson Way , then right again at the second set of traffic lights.
From Crowchild Trail southbound
1. Exit right at 50th Avenue/Mount Royal Gate and continue right onto Mount Royal Gate.
2. Continue straight at the first set of lights – the Mount Royal Gate and Richard Road intersection – and drive into campus.
From Crowchild Trail northbound
1. Exit right at 50th Avenue/Mount Royal Gate and turn left onto Mount Royal Gate.
2. Continue straight to the Mount Royal Gate and Richard Road intersection; drive into campus

About Robbie Robertson
Robbie Robertson was the guitarist and principal songwriter in The Band. He grew up in Toronto and on the Brantford Six Nations Reserve before heading to Arkansas to join Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks. He has produced many movie soundtracks for Martin Scorsese, including Raging Bull, and others, and continues to record as a solo artist. His most recent record, How to Become Clairvoyant, came out in 2011. His support of NA Native Music has been galvanizing. Robertson is also one of the coauthors of the children’s book Legends, Icons & Rebels. He lives in Los Angeles and visits Canada often.
Robbie Robertson’s singular contributions to popular music have made him one of the most beloved songwriters and guitarists of his time. With songs like “The Weight,” “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” and “Up on Cripple Creek,” he and his partners in The Band fashioned a music that has endured for decades, influencing countless musicians.
