Wordfest Youth Helps Teachers Plan for 2016-17
Each year our events delight the minds of students and we look forward to doing the same this upcoming October!
School may be drawing to a close for students, but we, at Wordfest, know that your planning for the upcoming school year is already underway. As you draft out lesson plans for September, consider bringing your class to a Wordfest Youth event. The impact of attending a Wordfest Youth event extends students’ learning beyond the classroom by providing them with tailored reading guides and engaging them in an interactive discussion with the authors. Wordfest Youth is presenting an exceptional lineup of authors this October that will inspire a love of reading in students and enrich their learning.
In order to streamline your planning process, we have started the release of our curriculum-focused reading guides for our 2016 titles! Wordfest’s reading guides outline applicable reading comprehension questions, thought-provoking discussion points and engaging classroom activities, which emphasize the main themes of the novel and align with specific curriculum objectives. More reading guides will be posted throughout the summer.
