The Rivers District Master Plan: What’s in it for YYC Arts & Culture?

What could the proposed Events Centre/Arena, in conjunction with the BMO expansion and Arts Commons upgrade, mean for Calgary’s artists, arts organizations and arts lovers? Councillor Jeff Davidson recently wrote in a Calgary Herald editorial, “On top of the economic benefits, investment, jobs and revenue it would create, the event centre is the focal point in developing a cultural gathering point for all Calgarians.” How can we ensure that the needs, visions and contributions of the city’s cultural sector are included in the Rivers District master plan?
