Author Lindsay Mattick is the great-granddaughter of Harry Colebourn, the Royal Canadian Army soldier and veterinarian whose donation of a bear cub from Ontario named Winnie to the London Zoo inspired A.A. Milne to write Winnie the PoohWinnie’s Great Waris a heartwarming imagining of the real journey Winnie made, from the Canadian forest to traveling with the Vet Corp to the London Zoo. Mattick’s first book, Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bearwon the 2015 Caldecott Medal and was a New York Times Bestseller and Notable Book of the Year.
