While these stories take place in vastly different settings, they both offer strong female characters and explore the theme of resiliency. Mariko Tamaki tells the story of Montgomery Sole as she tries to find her place and overcome social stigmas in a narrow-minded small town. Erin Bow presents her sequel to The Scorpion Rules with her latest novel, The Swan Riders. Bow’s novel is a captivating science fiction story that follows Greta, a sixteen year old Duchess, who is held hostage in a futuristic and dystopic society. In addition to discussing their acclaimed works, both authors will present on their creative inspiration and writing process.
