Damon Galgut

Damon Galgut (South Africa) is a playwright and author of several novels and short story collections. His debut novel, A Sinless Season, published when Galgut was just 17, was a literary success. His other novels include The Beautiful Screaming of Pigs, winner of the 1992 CAN Award, A Small Circle of Beings and The Quarry, which was made into a feature film that won the award for best film at the 1998 Montreal Film Festival. At Wordfest, Galgut presents his latest novel, Arctic Summer, about novelist E.M. Forster and his time spent writing Passage to India. Galgut currently resides in Cape Town, South Africa.
