Heather O’Neill
Heather O’Neill (QC, Canada) was born, and currently resides in Montreal. Her first novel, Lullabies for Little Criminals, earned accolades around the world, including being named winner of Canada Reads 2007 and the Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction. O’Neill was also a finalist for both the Governor General’s Award for fiction and the Orange Prize. The author is a regular contributor to CBC Books, CBC Radio, National Public Radio, New York Times Magazine, the Gazette (Montreal) and The Walrus. At Wordfest, O’Neill presents her latest novel, The Girl Who Was Saturday Night, about twins Noushcka and Nicolas Tremblay, children of a legendary folksinger who face controversies in the media spotlight.
