Louise Welsh
Louise Welsh (Scotland) ran a second-hand bookshop before becoming a full-time author to six novels: The Cutting Room, Tamburlaine Must Die, The Bullet Trick, Naming the Bones, Girl on the Stairs and A Lovely Way to Burn. The author has been the recipient of several awards, including the City of Glasgow Lord Provost’s Award for Literature and the Glenfiddich/Scotland on Sunday Spirit of Scotland Writing Award. Besides novels, Welsh has produced many short stories and articles, and written for radio and the stage, including a libretto for opera. Welsh has been the writer-in-residence for the University of Glasgow and the Glasgow School of Art.
