Nikki Reimer
Nikki Reimer (Calgary, AB, Canada) is a writer, editor and interdisciplinary artist. She is author of the books DOWNVERSE (Talonbooks 2014), [sic] (Frontenac House 2010) and the chapbooks fist things first (Wrinkle Press 2009), haute action material (heavy industries 2010) and that stays news (Nomados 2011). [sic] was shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award.
Reimer is the former managing editor of EVENT magazine and a contributing editor to Poetry is Dead. At Wordfest, Reimer presents DOWNVERSE, a quick-witted collection of poems created out of text found in new media, including hashtags and YouTube comments. The poems together craft an ode and elegy to Vancouver’s middle class, Generation-Y and the spirit of Vancouver itself. The artist has returned to Calgary after living in Vancouver for eight years.
