Padma Viswanathan

Padma Viswanathan (CAN/USA) is a fiction writer, playwright and journalist, who received her MA in creative writing from John Hopkins University, and her MFA from the University of Arizona. She has been awarded with residencies at the MacDowell Colony and the Banff Playwrights’ Colony, and has won the 2006 Boston Review Short Story Contest and the New Face of Fiction Award, from Random House Canada. At Wordfest, Viswanathan presents her newest work, The Ever After of Ashwin Rao, which is set among families of those who lost loved ones in the 1985 Air India bombing. Originally born in Edmonton, the author now resides in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
