Who could have guessed that the wisest and funniest book about Canada ever would be written by a comedian and badass guitar hero from Cleveland, Ohio?” — Malcolm Gladwell

FESTIVAL BOOK

Parking the Moose

Dave Hill is from Cleveland, Ohio. But his grandfather was from Clinton, Ontario. And every Sunday at dinner he’d impress on Dave that the best country is actually Canada.

So while his peers kept busy with ball games, hockey became the only sport for Dave. His bacon of choice was Canadian. And if a song by Triumph came on the radio, he’d ask for it to be cranked up loud.

In later years, he even visited Canada a couple times. But now, inspired by a publisher’s payment of several hundred dollars (Canadian), he has travelled all over the country, exploring his heritage, touching things he probably shouldn’t and having adventures and insights too numerous to be done justice in this blurb.

The result, he says, is “the greatest Canada-based literary thrill ride of your life-time.”
