Media Buzz: Marina Endicott

Praise for Marina Endicott in advance of her June 1 Wordfest Appearance

Marina Endicott’s latest novel Close to Hugh launched on May 24. Slated as one of The Globe and Mail’s most anticipated books of 2015, it has already made quite a splash on the book scene in Alberta.

Reviews on the Calgary Herald as well as the Quill and Quire have given us a glimpse into the life of protagonist Hugh Argylle. Hugh works through the frustrations of his own mortality as he starts to feel the weight of his years, and the weight of those around him.

Wordfest is presenting Marina Endicott with Guy Vanderhaeghe and Fred Stenson on June 1, but we’re not the first stop on her tour through the prairies. Endicott is returning to St. Albert for a reading of Close to Hugh and the local paper is just as thrilled as we are to have her.

Marina spoke about the work that went into Close to Hugh when CBC’s Daybreak interviewed Marina Endicott about her writing process and her thoughts on her latest publication. For more information about Marina Endicott’s reading or for tickets visit the official event page.
