Review of All True Not a Lie in It by Alix Hawley
All True Not a Lie in It
Overall I enjoyed All True Not a Lie in It by Alix Hawley. It took me a little while to get used to the writing style. I felt like it was an adventure and a different perspective from that time period. I think Hawley was providing a different light/perspective on Daniel Boone and his survival.
The author really emphasized how harsh that time period was and the struggles that came along with it. I believe that she did a good job of highlighting this, and that the goal is worthwhile. I believe it’s a fantastic reminder of how America was built, and in so many ways how fortunate we are to have everything in our lives. It was also beautiful to taste a different view of freedom. You could really sense in Hawley’s version of Daniel Boone what freedom meant to him (i.e. KENTUCKY!). I believe this book was written mostly for by adults who enjoy historical fiction.
