Reading Levels

Shared reading: familiar characters/objects; basic/familiar vocabulary; short sentences; illustrations that help explain text and content.

First semi-independent reading: simple characters, situations and dialogue; simple vocabulary; simple sentences; some illustrations to support text and content.

Independent reading: complex but well defined characters, situations and dialogue; relatively challenging vocabulary and sentence structure; well defined chapters.
