Nancy Huston

Nancy Huston (CAN/FRA) is the Calgary-born novelist and essayist who, after attending Sarah Lawrence College, moved to France, where she studied at the Université de Paris under Roland Barthes. Huston has won the Governor General’s Award for French-language fiction for Cantiques des plaines, and has since been short-listed for the award on two other occasions. As Huston spent more time in Paris, she began translating much of her work from French to English, including The Goldberg Variations and The Mark of the Angel, both nominted for Governor General’s Awards for translation. At Wordfest, Huston presents Black Dance, about dying screenwriter, Milo Noirlac.
