The Walrus Talks Vice, January 29

How do we get our kicks? Why is it nice to be naughty? Can we have virtue without vice?

The Walrus Foundation has corralled an intriguing lineup of writers and thinkers for an evening of provocative discussion on the topic of vice. The Walrus Talks Vice at High Performance Rodeo starts at 7pm on Thursday, January 29, 2015, at the Jack Singer Concert Hall. Tickets are $25.

Billed as "a riveting romp through booze, sex, rock ‘n’ roll, and more," the event features musician and author Dave Bidini, Noel Biderman of ashleymadison.com, Jonathan Goldstein of CBC's WireTap, author Ann Dowsett, professors Viviane Namaste and Jim Pfaus, columnist Elizabeth Renzetti and journalist Shelley Youngblut.

Launched in 2012, The Walrus Talks series has attracted over 13,000 Canadians in cities across the country. Each talk features up to eight speakers—from academics, artists, poets and authors to business leaders, politicians and opinion leaders of varied stripes—who have something thoughtful to say on the chosen theme. They each have seven minutes on stage, which is just long enough, as the organizers say, "to make something big small, or something small big."
