Counting TeethPeter Midgley was a conscientious objector to South Africa’s involvement in the Namibian War for Independence, and has a long-standing interest in the effects of colonialism, of apartheid and genocide. In his book, Counting Teeth: A Namibian Story, he takes readers on a personal journey of coming to terms with the effects of colonialism and the genocide. Peter has also written a critical introduction to the life and works of the South African nationalist and founder member of the African National Congress, Sol Plaatje, and is a co-editor of Grappling with the Beast, a collection of essays on indigenous southern African responses to colonialism.
