Doug Dirks

CBC Calgary’s Doug Dirks has spent nearly three decades informing, and entertaining viewers and listeners in Calgary, southern Alberta, and across the country. He’s currently the host of the Homestretch on CBC Radio One, and Our Calgary on CBC-TV. Over the years, he has also hosted the CBC TV Calgary News and has anchored programs on CBC TV News Network.

He is a regular contributor to CBC Sports’ Road To The Olympic Games where he provides commentary to the network’s coverage of various winter and summer sports. PyeongChang 2018 was his third Olympic Games with the network, having previously lent his expertise to coverage of Beijing 2008 and Rio 2016.

He is active in the community, hosting hundreds of events for local, regional, and national charities during his career.

Dirks is a graduate of McGill University, Mount Royal College, and Humber College.
