A Celebration of Story starring Amanda Peters, Michelle Porter & katherena vermette
Hosted by Shelagh Rogers

At the heart of it all, deep in our cells and fuelling our desire to form community and connections, is story. The extraordinary katherena vermette knows this so well, as she gifts us The Circle, the third piece of her masterwork which began with The Break and was followed by The Stranger. Debut Indigenous novelists Michelle Porter (A Grandmother Tells Her Story) and Amanda Peters (The Berry Pickers) have taken their family lore to new imaginative heights. Lisa Moore describes Porter’s voice as “unique, uber-alive, utterly gorgeous.” vermette calls her mentee Peters’ novel a triumph: “The Berry Pickers has all the passion of a first book but also the finely developed skill of a well-practiced storyteller.” And here we are, back at the beginning with story.
