On their own, Amber Dawn (Buzzkill Clamshell) and jaye simpson (a body more tolerable) are literary powerhouses with big personalities. Together, they’re a force to be reckoned with: candid, explicit, and unapologetically queer. And when we heard they’d done a cross-continental tour together, we couldn’t wait to get in on the fun. This show will feature readings from the dynamic duo, as well as their newest brainchild: Poetry Karaoke! Audience members will have the exclusive chance to flip through Amber Dawn and jaye’s “playlist” of their favourite erotic and sensual poems—and perform them! We might steam up the windows of the Memorial Park Library Salon with this one, and you won’t want to miss out on the action. Presented in partnership with Pansy Club YYC, this event will feature a pop-up of Pansy Club’s High Queerdness Lending Library and a custom mocktail bar presented by Wild Folk.
